The Wild Divide- Moderate- 4 Day / Sept 7-10, 2026 (Jasper National Park)

$1,000.00

Day 1 – Trailhead to Four Point Camp
We meet in Canmore at 6am to check gear and get ready for the adventure, then drive to the Poboktan Creek trailhead. The trail winds through dense forest and along rushing creeks, gradually climbing into the heart of the valley. Towering peaks surround us as we reach Four Point Camp, our first wilderness home with sweeping valley views that hint at the grandeur ahead.

Day 2 – Four Point Camp to Jonas Camp
Prepare for a jaw-dropping day in the high alpine. About 14 km of dramatic, open terrain takes us past jagged ridges, alpine meadows, and panoramic vistas that stretch as far as the eye can see. Cresting Jonas Pass, the world unfolds beneath us in breathtaking views before we descend to Jonas Camp, a secluded spot surrounded by towering peaks.

Day 3 – Jonas Camp to Waterfalls Camp
We continue through high-country landscapes before reaching a spectacular waterfall. Our campsite sits above the falls, with the roar of cascading water echoing through the valley. This shorter day gives time to relax, explore glacial streams, and soak in the untamed wilderness.

Day 4 – Waterfalls Camp to Trailhead
On the final day, we descend through the valley, retracing our route past forests, meadows, and crystal-clear streams. Each turn offers one last glimpse of the rugged peaks and untouched wilderness before we reach the trailhead and conclude this unforgettable adventure.

Is this for you?

This trip is considered moderate in difficulty. You will carry your own clothing and equipment, food for the duration of the trip, and a share of group gear. With careful packing, backpacks are typically around 16 kg or 35lbs.

Previous backpacking experience is helpful but not required. You should be in good physical condition and comfortable hiking for several consecutive days over valley trails, forested slopes, and alpine terrain. Day 2 is the longest and most demanding, with about 14 km of dramatic high-alpine terrain, so stamina and preparation are especially important.

We hike at a steady, manageable pace and stay together as a group. Training beforehand with hikes or walks carrying a loaded pack will make this spectacular alpine adventure far more enjoyable and rewarding.
